Minor in Chemistry

Students may earn a minor in Chemistry by completing the program below:

The following five courses are required:
Chem 1111 - Introductory Chemistry I
Chem 1121 - Introductory Chemistry II
Chem 2223 - Quantitative Analysis
Chem 2612 - Structural Organic Chemistry
Chem 2633 - Techniques of Organic Chemistry

ONE course from the following list must be completed:
Chem 3312 - Physical Chemistry I
Chem 3412 - Basic Inorganic Chemistry
Chem 2622 - Organic Reactions
Chem 4712 - Biochemistry

Courses which are prerequisites to subsequent courses in the minor may not be taken on a satisfactory/unsatisfactory basis. A GPA of at least 2.0 is required for the courses presented for the minor. At least three courses towards the Chemistry minor must be completed at UMSL.
